The Maui Ocean Center will allow certified divers to dive with 22 sharks, 6 different species, including a tiger shark, several Hammerheads, Black Tips, White Tips, and Reef Sharks. The swells were bad around the Island so most of the diving was done at Molokai Crater, both on the Back Wall and in the protective interior of the Crater. Some of these were from the whale boat - some from the lanai of our house. This was the 'official' first day in Maui - so, what did we do. We got up at 3:30 in the morning and drove up 10,000 feet to watch the sunrise at the top of Mount Haleakala, in 40 degree weather.
